Frequently Asked Questions
Is therapy right for me?
Therapy is a gift you give yourself. An individual can seek therapy services for many different reasons. A person may be struggling with severe symptoms or want an unbiased professional to help assist them towards bettering themselves, improving coping skills, and reaching personal goals.
What if I see someone I know during a walk/talk therapy session?
I will always do my best to maintain confidentiality. Walk talk therapy will often look casual as if we are walking for exercise or enjoyment. You do not need to feel pressured to tell others I am your therapist, but can say what you feel comfortable with. We will do our best to keep our conversations quiet if around other people in order to protect confidentiality.
What if it’s raining, snowing, cold?
Walking during these circumstances can be beneficial and provide an aspect to the session that may create different opportunities for growth. If a client chooses not to walk in the weather, a session can be changed to telehealth or be provided elsewhere such as a coffee shop if needed.
